Tempura Communications was founded in 2002. We brought our extensive experience working in Web based software, IT, systems development, integration and video conferencing industry to the business client base. The company started by specialising in IP infrastructure and telecom links, enabling solutions and providing access to products and services from Tier 1 ISPs; to the reseller channel in the UK and Ireland.

Tempura provided hosting solutions, and data and internet connectivity from inception to present day. Its first vendor partners were BT, GTT (was easynet Interoute) and Verizon then Worldcom. In 2006 other ISP relationships were created, plus the addition of VOIP hosted services. ISPs included NTL/Telewest now Virgin, MDNX, Bulldog then Cable & Wireless now Vodafone, KCOM, Global Crossing and others.

Tempura moved from its office in Bath to split into 2 offices, one in Bristol and one in Basingstoke. In July 2007 we closed both and moved to Tempura’s fully-owned premises in Basingstoke, where we still are today. We then strategically opened another office in Canary Wharf in London in 2012, which followed an office in Dublin, Ireland 2 years earlier in 2010. In 2021 We acquired Elevision in Netherlands to open an office and warehouse in the  Netherlands to provide products and services to the reseller base in Benelux Region as well as to provide simpler and faster access to Europe for our UK reseller base.

In 2008, we saw an opportunity for the business to venture into video conferencing. It secured a distributor level accreditation from Vidyo initially and Lifesize, then AVER and Yealink in 2015, Heckler Design a the end of 2017, as we prepared for the Zoom journey coming to the UK. This was quickly followed in 2018 with DTEN Interactive Displays. STEM Audio was added in 2019 for ground breaking audio solutions now part of the Shure Audio group, quickly followed by Konftel and then Yamaha in 2020 to coincide with the launch of their Adecia Range for Professional audio in the meeting space, as well as the full installed audio and professional audio range. In 2021 Inogeni was added for converters and camera sharing devices along with Sound Control Technologies through our acquisition of Elevision in the Netherlands and the birth of Tempura Communications BV. In 2022 Space Connect Room Booking software, and Catchbox throwable and wearable microphone solutions added to our pro audio range. In 2023, we re-engaged with Axeos and Unicol for Screen Trolley and Carts and LCD Mounting solutions to compliment our announcement of the agreement in the UK, Ireland and Netherlands of distribution of the B2B Hisense Display Range. Our video division at this point became a true UC division with a range of professional Displays, Interactive Screens for Education and Corporate or specially for Teams and Zoom, Pro Audio solutions, Cameras and Videoconferencing systems and accessories to support it all together.

Over the years, Tempura has effectively enabled internet connectivity, Voice services and video conferencing solutions for varying businesses; from small businesses, to hotel chains, government departments and the largest and well-known companies in the world, through a network of partners from locally focused through to the largest Value added Resellers in the country and Internationally.

Tempura Communications continues to lead in the distribution of  Unified Communications including VoIP, connectivity, Audio Visual and video conferencing solutions supplying to over 1,500 resellers from a base of over 6500 partners in the UK, Ireland and the Netherlands. The business has kept its strong vendor partnerships and continues to value its vendors and customers together in the same way.

The Portfolio is split across 3 distinct areas, Networking/Connectivity, Voice and UC incorporating Audio Visual and Video; the range of professional services we offer bring together best of breed products to create some of the best solutions available anywhere. Tempura policy is to add the best offerings to meet the demands of our resellers customers. We don’t just add brands as some kind of vendor badge collection, we look,  select strategically and then understand, support, advise and provide solutions to our network of resellers in Audio Visual, Videoconferencing, Telecom, IT, Office Automation and others that focus on value added propositions to their customers.
